Partnering for Success with The Mango Tree

Kids Club Kampala and The Mango Tree have begun the process of partnering to increase our collective impact.

Jo Black COO and Paul Moore Trustee meet Founders Willie and Gail Fulton with The Mango Tree Kenya team in Kenya earlier this year

Why are we partnering?

Over the past few years, thanks to your support, we have been able to build strong, stable foundations in our organisation. When we were approached by The Mango Tree, we knew it was a great opportunity to expand from our solid foundation and life changing impact for even more vulnerable children living in East Africa that need our support.

We are so glad to be able to assist The Mango Tree with the closure of their UK offices by helping them fulfil their promise to provide free education to vulnerable children in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. We are delighted to support locally led and managed organisations to become more independent and sustain local leadership.

Together, we are seeking ways to leverage our combined expertise, resources, and on-the-ground presence to help The Mango Tree honour their promise and continue their legacy as we support The Mango Tree Kenya with the delivery of their comprehensive programmes that address the diverse needs of vulnerable children in the Homabay County, in western Kenya.

Sam and the team in Uganda are looking forward to seeing how new partnerships could expand our impact and support for more vulnerable children across East Africa in the most hard to reach places.

Both organisations have now completed a thorough evaluation and a collaborative partnership process that ensures potential collaborations align with our respective values so we can continue to create the greatest positive impact for the communities we serve.

About Kids Club Kampala

For the last 15 years, Kids Club Kampala has been working with communities to support vulnerable children in Uganda, by providing for both their immediate needs and strengthening their futures through education and child protection programmes. Our work is based on a holistic approach, where we focus on meeting the immediate needs of children and families while empowering them to bring about long-term, sustainable changes in their lives through education and skills development.

About The Mango Tree

The Mango Tree UK is a transformational organisation, improving educational opportunities and sustainable livelihoods for disadvantaged children and young people in East Africa, and as they look to sustain local leadership The Mango Tree Kenya are exploring options to ensure that they fulfil their promise to support the education fees of the remaining Mango Tree registered orphans in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda. See their website here.

We are hosting an Evening with Olivia event on 7th November at 7:30pm via Zoom which you can register for here. Olivia, who has recently returned from maternity leave, will be telling you more about this great organisation and how we will be able to expand our reach and impact through working together.

If you would like to find out more about this exciting partnership, or if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch at info@kidsclubkampala.org or call us on 07596 815060.
